Day 3 Part 2
Wednesday, July 30th, 2008DIET
I screwed up on dinner, I ate wings and a couple rolls. Other than that my day was good. I only had 10 wings though, I usually have 20 so I am doing better and I bet you I hit my calorie count this time. I can’t seem to hit it other days, I am always too low, but I know I either hit or passed it today. Oh well today was learning.
Exercise
I was not sure I was going to get a run in to today or not, we didn’t leave the wing joint until 8pm, and in Ohio it is starting to get dark at that time. I speed home and called a buddy who said he wanted to run with me, so he picked me up around 8:30 and we went for a run.
He is in so much better shape than I am, he has been working out for the past 3 months and has lost 30lbs, lucky bastard. He kept me motivated tonight, tonight was tough, probably because I had a stomach full of wings and crap. But he made me stick with it. When we were done it was pretty much pitch black and we were in the woods and he is blinder than a bat, without the sonar.
So I got home and I really did not feel like swinging the sledge hammer around, but I did and it killed, I almost didn’t get through my fireman motions. I trudged on.
I am now sitting in the middle of my living room in a pool of my own sweat and I feel great. I am going to go take a shower.
Day 3 Part 1
Wednesday, July 30th, 2008I woke up late… again, see a pattern? I only had time to eat breakfast and do my hundred push up challenge.
My initial test was 7 push ups, keep in mind, when I did my first 10 today I blasted through those and I also got my max to 11. So I am moving on up with only a day of training. I am feeling really good to be able to add 4 push ups to my total.
Tonight I am meeting my girlfriend and her mom for all you can eat wings tonight, what a food challenge for me, I love wings. I am going to try to just get a salad. After wings at some point I am going to have to find time to run and shovelglove again.
Day 2 Shovelglove
Tuesday, July 29th, 2008Wow, I am weak. This shovelglove is wearing my arms out. My girlfriend was in the room with me today and she was laughing at me and to tell you the truth I felt like a big dork swinging around the sledge hammer.
But it did make me sweat a little and I feel better to have done it than just sitting down and watching T.V.
DIET
My diet has been going great, although I seem to not be eating enough calories. Oh well, tonight me and my girlfriend made eye of the round steak and I made some asparagus with butter and garlic. MMMMMMM Tasty.
Day 1 Part 2
Monday, July 28th, 2008Okay I got done with my Day 1 of Couch to 5k and my Day 1 of Shovelgloving.
Couch to 5k
I did my first run today and to be honest it was harder the first few runs then the last ones. My feet were numb by the end of the run though. I am also not doing it on a flat level of land, I am running up and down hills. By the time I got back to my car though I had feeling in both of my feet. I feel great though.
Shovelglove
After doing this first 14 minutes of this routine I know for a fact that it will be a good workout for my weekly routine. My arms were aching when I was getting to the end of the first 14 minutes. Now that could be because I am weak as heck or because it is a good workout, maybe both.
After day 1 I feel absolutely great. I don’t feel like the day was wasted like I normally feel. I hope I stick with this because I feel great!
Day 1 Part 1
Monday, July 28th, 2008Woops, I woke up late. Only time to eat breakfast and do one of my three routines.
I poured myself a bowl of Special K, and had two pieces for wheat toast with skim milk.
Day 1 of One Hundred Push Up challenge, has me in the second column. I did the first 7 push ups and was feeling okay, then did the next 7 after a 60 second rest, my arms are starting to burn. I have to push myself to do the next 5 push ups, I don’t think I can do the next 4, I am feeling really bad about myself at this point. The last set is Max (up to 5 push ups), no way was I even getting 2 done at this point, but I surprised myself and hammered out 7. Now I am feeling good but have to go to work.
I will run after work and shovelglove as well. I am running with the UllReys Couch to 5k Podcasts , I will give an update after work.
Initial Test
Saturday, July 26th, 2008A few moments ago I decided to do my One Hundred Push Ups initial test where I managed to squeeze out a whole 7 push ups. I have a lot of work ahead of me. So it looks like Monday I will be doing the second column of the Week 1 push ups.
I have a Plan
Friday, July 25th, 2008Albeit a short 6 week plan for now. My diet will consist of healthy foods keeping my calorie intake between 1986 and 2236 a day with 6 meals a day. Breakfast, Snack, Lunch, Snack and Dinner.
I plan on excercising Monday Through Friday giving my body a significant break on Saturday and Sunday.
Monday, Wednesday and Friday I plan on doing:

By the end of the 6 weeks I should be able to run for 3 miles or 30 minutes and do 100 push-ups. I should also see an increase in my overall strength.
Also I wanted to lose weight and exercise on a low income budget. After the 6 weeks I will reward myself with a gym membership for two reasons:
- I’ve earned it
- I will be dedicated enough to use it
Update: I guess I did not read through the Couch to 5k plan, it is a 9 week program. So I will be doing 9 weeks instead of 6 and will be shooting for 30 minutes of running instead of 3 miles. I was informed by a reader Neesha D from Traineo.com. Thanks!

Friday, July 25th, 2008I have decided to loose weight… A lot of weight. Sure I’ve said it before, who hasn’t? I have even tried before, my most successful try was dropping 20 lbs. Then, once again, I quit diet and exercising for one reason or another.
My name is Ara Bruno and I live in Youngstown, Oh working as a web developer. I am 23 5′7″ and weigh 275lbs and this is the last time I’ll ever weigh that much again.
